June 11, 2004 (Atlanta) Elexos founder Jim Snel, along with Jason Moulden and John Meyer attended the first meeting of the ICIA Independent Programmers Council, a newly established council that serves the needs and interests of control systems programmers who are not employed by hardware vendors or integrators.
Key long-term activities and goals of the Independent Programmers Council include identifying independent programmer business issues, liaising with other ICIA councils on matters of mutual interest, addressing industry relations, membership criteria and standards of practice, raising the stature of independent programmers in the industry, providing collective feedback to vendors, and sharing professional resources.
Jim Snel was recently chosen as a member of the Steering Committee for the council. The council holds regular monthly meetings, in addition to an annual conference scheduled for late September in Fairfax, VA to help move their goals forward. Elexos is excited and honored to participate in such activities that will greatly help the needs of the independent programmers' marketplace and the commercial AV industry.
